Ministry Guitarist Mike Scaccia Dies on Stage

Mike Scaccia, guitarist for metal rock bands Ministry and Rigor Mortis, died after collapsing on stage at the age of 47, according to Rolling Stone magazine.
Scaccia was playing at the Rail Club in Fort Worth, Texas at a birthday celebration for Rigor Mortis singer Bruce Corbitt when he suddenly dropped to the ground. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The medical examiner has ruled the cause of death a heart attack, but reports are swirling that Scaccia had a seizure after reportedly asking for the strobe lights in the club to be turned off.
Al Jourgensen, Ministry's lead singer, confirmed the sad news on the band's website, telling fans, "I just lost my lil' brother and my best friend. Mikey was not only the best guitar player in the history of music, but he was a close, close, close part of our family – and I just lost a huge chunk of my heart today."
Scaccia, a New York native, formed the band Rigor Mortis in 1983. They release one album under major record label Capitol Records. Scaccia was persuaded to join Ministry in 1989 by Al Jourgensen. He was a part of the group's most successful commercial album, "Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs."
Rigor Mortis vocalist Corbitt mourned the death of his fellow band member via Facebook, calling him "the greatest guitar player I ever knew."
"My brother is gone. The only reason I am who I am is because of this man. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't even be in a band," Corbitt wrote.
