Music industry veteran Polly Anthony, who served in executive roles at such record labels as Epic and Geffen, has died after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, according to All Access.

Anthony began her music business career as an assistant at CBS Records in Los Angeles and later worked her way up to senior VP of promotion at Epic, All Access reports. She eventually became president of Sony's 550 Records and president of Epic Records Group. In 2004, she became co-president at Geffenwith Jordan Schur.

Anthony had most recently been involved with numerous film and television projects.

Following her passing, songwriter Diane Warren wrote the following message about Anthony on her Facebook page.

"My dear friend and sister by choice, Polly Anthony has passed away. I am heartbroken for her family and those of us lucky enough to know this amazing badass loyal protective and fierce woman warrior who I was lucky to have in my life all these years. There will b a hole forever in it now. I love U. RIP dear Polly."
