Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman has been found dead in his Manhattan apartment after suffering a suspected drugs overdose. One of the most-highly regarded actors in America, Hoffman won a series of awards including a Best Actor Oscar for his performance in the 2005 film Capote.
Hoffman was found dead in his Greenwich village apartment on Sunday morning.
New York City Police Department is at the scene and investigating.
He was 46 and leaves behind his wife, the costume designer Mimi O'Donnell, and three children.
