'S.W.A.T.' Star Steve Forrest Dies at 87

Steve Forrest , who starred on the 1970s action series "S.W.A.T.", died Saturday, May 18 at his home in Thousand Oaks, Calif. He was 87.
A cause of death has not been released, but his publicist reveals that the actor died peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by family.
Forrest's Hollywood career spanned 60 years. He gained TV fame for starring as Lt. Dan "Hondo" Harrelson for two seasons on the ABC cop drama (1975-1976), where he coined the show's catch phrase, "Let's roll!" In an homage to his signature line, he made a cameo as a van driver in the 2003 " S.W.A.T. " feature film based on the series.
Forrest's other TV appearances included a recurring role on "Murder, She Wrote" for 10 years; a one-year stint as a regular on "Dallas" in 1985; three seasons on "Gunsmoke"; and guest starring roles in everything from "The Twilight Zone," "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" and "Night Gallery" to "Fantasy Island," "Columbo" and "L.A. Law."
He's also memorable for playing Greg, "Mommie Dearest's" love interest, in addition to a slew of movie roles in the '50s and '60s, co-starring alongside such famous faces as Elvis Presley, Sophia Loren, Ronald Reagan and John Wayne.
Forrest is survived by his wife of 65 years Christine and their three sons.
