Actress Suzanne Pleshette, best remembered in her motion picture and television acting career for for having played comedian Bob Newhart's wife 'Emily' on the 1970s television comedy series "The Bob Newhart Show", passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, in Los Angeles, CA., just 2 weeks before her 61st birthday.
Featured in over 40 movies in a career the spanned five decades, one of her best known film roles was that of the school teacher 'Annie Hayworth' in Alfred Hitchcock's 1963 classic horro film "The Birds". She had been married three times; Her first marriage to actor Troy Donohue in 1964 ended in divorce after several months. Her second marriage to restauranteur Tom Gallagher lasted thirty years until his death in 2000, and her third marriage was to actor Tom Poston who passed away in 2007.
