Ruth Prawer Jhabvala, the scrrenplay writer for Merchant Ivory films such as The Remains of the Day, Howards End, A Room With a View, Heat and Dust, Bombay Talkie and Shakespeare Wallah has died at the age of 85.
She won Oscars for her writing on A Room With a View and Howards End, and a BAFTA for Heat and Dust which was based on her own novel.
