It's been confirmed that Sylvester Stallone's son Sage was found dead in his Hollywood apartment earlier today, according to The New York Post .

"He was in good spirits, and working on all kinds of projects," the 36-year-old actor's lawyer, George Braunstein, told the paper.

"He was planning on getting married. I am just devastated. He was an extremely wonderful, loving guy. This is a tragedy."

A source told the paper he is believed to have died following an overdose of pills, and that pills were found at his apartment, but those claims haven't been confirmed by police.

A rep for the LAPD told The Post: "There is no suspicion of foul play or criminal activity."

The police went to Sage's home for a "welfare check" after someone notified the police they couldn't get in touch with him, the rep added.

The case has been turned over to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office.

Sage first appeared on the big screen alongside his famous dad in "Rocky V" as Robert Balboa in 1990. He acted alongside Sly again in 1996's "Daylight," and went on to do some directing and producing.

Sylvester was promoting "The Expendables 2″ at Comic Con in San Diego this week. His rep, Michelle Bega, said: "Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son Sage Stallone."

"His compassion and thoughts are with Sage's mother, Sasha [Czack]. Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man. His loss will be felt forever."

The opinions expressed are solely those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the views of Comcast.
