Rapper Miss Melodie, Member of Boogie Down Productions, Dead at 43

The rap world is mourning the loss of one of its own.
Rapper Miss Melodie , a member of the influential group Boogie Down Productions who was once married to rapper KRS-One , has died. She was 43.
Details surrounding her death remain unclear, but friends have taken to Twitter to express their sadness at her loss.
"RIP Miss Melody," wrote R&B singer Monifah , her good friend. "Please keep her children, family & loved ones in ur prayers. #HipHopRoyalty."
The Brooklyn native, whose real name was Ramona Scott, married KRS-One in 1987 and later joined Boogie Down Productions.
She released her debut album, Diva , in 1989, and went on to score a hit with "Live On Stage." She also appeared in Queen Latifah 's video "Ladies First."
