Rap Star Shot and Killed at Age 22

Rapper M-Bone was shot and killed late Sunday night in a drive-by shooting, MTV News reports. He was 22.
The Cali Swag District star suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the head while sitting in his car outside an Inglewood, Calif. liquor store. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An Inglewood police spokesperson speaking to TMZ indicated that the attack was a random act of violence, and that M-Bone was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
M-Bone and the rest of Cali Swag District rose to prominence in 2010 with the hit "Teach Me How to Dougie" - an ode to the dance popularized by hip-hop legend Doug E. Fresh - which reignited the dance craze and sold more than 1.6 million downloads, according to Billboard. The song was a Top 10 hit on Billboard's rap and hip-hop charts and peaked at No. 28 on the Hot 100. The group's album debut album, "The Kickback," is slated for release later this year on Capitol Records.
Cali Swag District frontman C-Smoove took to Twitter in the wake of his friend's murder. "Ma life changed drastically in the. Blink of an eye rip mbone" he wrote.
"I'm crushed...jus seen Ma N**** on the news," Smoove added. "idk wat to think or say...I'm hurting man real talk."
