Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore's first prime minister, died on Sunday according to a statement from the prime minister's office. He was 91.

The news was announced in a statement from the office of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, son of the former prime Minister. The statement was also shared via the prime minister's official Twitter account, and stated that "Mr Lee passed away peacefully at the Singapore General Hospital today at 3.18 am."

"Today I lost a brother. Anthony Jude Pero passed away. A.J. was the final piece in a band that would become an international sensation and one of the greatest live rock acts to ever hit the stage. His sledgehammer assault on the drums helped drive Twisted Sister and I to greatness and inspired me to rock every single show. My heart breaks knowing I will never feel the power of his beat behind me, or turn to see his face smiling broadly from the sheer joy he got from doing what he loved. I will always remember that smile. RIP my friend."

"AJ Pero was a force, the likes of which I doubt I will ever have the chance to play in front of again. His drumming was legendary but his heart, as a human being, was even greater.
This April 1st would have been his 32nd year as a member.
In the Twisted Sister world he was always affectionately known as "the new guy". That is how long and deep our history was/is.

This morning I received the tragic news about AJ's passing. As anyone would be, I am devastated. With such a loss, even I broke down and cried, allegedly the tough guy in the band. One statement says it all, "AJ was my band mate, my friend and my brother and I will miss him forever".

My family, extended Twisted Sister family, and I are heartbroken and devastated to hear the news of Anthony Jude Pero's passing. A.J. was a dear friend and brother to me, and in my opinion, one of the most talented drummers of all time. I will always remember the amazing experiences and great laughs we shared. A.J. always had an amazing sense of humor and did his best to please everyone he came in contact with.
Back in the day, when the band first started touring, we were often room-mates and he never failed to keep me smiling. It's very difficult for me to talk about this right now. However, I feel that out of respect for his legacy, it's important for us to let the world know how we all felt and will always feel about him. I know I will dearly miss him, but I'm grateful to have been his friend and musical partner for thirty-eight years.
At this time, my sincerest sympathies go out to his family. Heaven just got a great drummer, one that will live forever in our hearts.

[DeadCelebrityAlert] The Simpsons Co-Creator, Sam Simon Dies At 59

Sam Simon, the co-creator of the hit TV series, The Simpsons, has passed away today at the age of 59. The nine time Emmy Award Winner first got his cancer diagnosis back in 2012 and had since been battling a long, public battle with colon cancer. 
In addition to his award winning work on The Simpsons, Simon also wrote episodes ofCheers & Taxi while being a very active philanthropist helping to save animals. Much of Simon's fortune was put towards the Sam Simon Foundation which provides service dogs to those veterans who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Simon was also a huge supporter of PETA which named its headquarters in Norfolk, Virginia the Sam Simon Center.

Since his diagnosis, Simon was also known to purchase zoos, only to free the animals who had lived inside of them. 
Simon is responsible for generations of laughs and will be greatly missed.

Lynn Borden, who starred on the 1960s TV comedy Hazel and was done in by a killer turtle in the 1972 cult eco-horror film Frogs, died Tuesday after an extended illness, her family announced. She was 77. 
Borden played Barbara Baxter on the fifth and final season of Hazel, which starred Shirley Booth as a live-in maid. The show had shifted from NBC to CBS, and Hazel had moved in with another family.
 
Frogs, distributed by American International Pictures, stars Ray Milland as a wealthy wheelchair-bound man who is polluting the swamp around his island estate. Nature soon exacts its revenge, and Borden pays the price when she is stuck in the mud and killed by a snapping turtle. 
 
 
Borden also appeared in such films as Days of Wine and Roses (1962), Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice(1969), Black Mama White Mama (1973), Walking Tall (1973), Breezy (1973), Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry(1974) and Savannah Smiles (1982). Her TV work included The Dick Van Dyke Show, My Three Sons,Get Smart, McMillan & Wife, Fantasy Island and, in her last onscreen appearance, CSI: NY.
 
Born in Detroit, Borden was raised in Tucson, Ariz. She was the winner of the Miss Arizona 1957 pageant and then was a runner-up in the Miss America contest. Her father, Bill Freyse, drew the newspaper comic strip Our Boarding School for three decades.
 
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Roger, and her brother, Steve. A memorial Mass will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Our Lady of Grace Church in Encino.

    Von Bargen's distinguished stage career included a long residency with Trinity Repertory Company in Providence, Rhode Island; he made his Off-Broadway debut in 1981 in Missing Persons.[4] He also appeared in the premiere of Larry Gelbart's Mastergate and other plays at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and made his Broadway debut when the show went to New York. In 1990, he won a Theatre World Award for Outstanding New Performer for his role in Mastergate.[5] His last role was Maury in the Comedy film London Betty and George Burgess in the Drama film Things That Hang from Trees.[6]

    Personal life[edit]

    Von Bargen was born to Juanita J. (née Bustle) and Donald L. Von Bargen.[7]
    Von Bargen graduated from Purdue University.[4]

    Health and death[edit]

    On February 20, 2012, von Bargen shot himself in the temple during an apparent suicide attempt.[8] He placed a phone call to a 911 operator who dispatched an emergency unit to von Bargen's Montgomery, Ohio, apartment. He suffered from diabetes, and had already had one leg amputated. Von Bargen was due to have "at least" some toes amputated on the other foot, and did not want to submit to another surgery.[9]
    Von Bargen died on March 1, 2015 after suffering from diabetes for years. He was 64
